The Spine Hospital of Louisiana Recognized for Five-Star Care Transitions by Becker’s Hospital Review

The Spine Hospital of Louisiana has been recognized among the nation’s top-performing hospitals for care transitions by Becker’s Hospital Review, based on patient feedback gathered through the CMS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. 

This honor underscores our dedication to delivering exceptional patient care, extending beyond the operating room to encompass every interaction and transition from hospital to home. 

 

HCAHPS Survey: What It Is & What It Measures

The HCAHPS survey is the first national, standardized and publicly reported assessment of patients’ experiences during an inpatient hospital stay. Its main goal is to capture patients’ perspectives on care and provide objective, meaningful comparisons between hospitals on the factors that matter most to consumers.

The survey includes 32 questions, with 22 core items measuring essential parts of a patient’s hospital experience — communication, responsiveness, cleanliness, medication guidance, discharge information, care coordination and overall satisfaction. It is administered to a random sample of adult patients across all medical conditions between 48 hours and six weeks after discharge and is not limited to Medicare beneficiaries.

The survey was conducted between October 2023 and September 2024. The data was last updated on July 16.
