COMMON SPINE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES

LUMBAR PUNCTURE (SPINAL TAP)

This is a way to get a sample of your cerebrospinal fluid (which we call “CSF”). This fluid flows around your brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves. Testing this fluid will show signs of bleeding, infection or other problems.

MYELOGRAM (MYELOGRAPHY)

This outpatient procedure is a diagnostic examination of the spine. It allows the physician to identify problems involving the spine, the spinal cord and the nerve roots.
