Claire Murphy Elfert, RN has been named The Spine Hospital of Louisiana’s 2019 Employee of the Year. Claire was voted the hospital’s top team member for the tremendous and positive impact she’s had on our patients, her department, and our organization as a whole.
Claire, who is adored by her co-workers and patients alike, has made exceptional contributions to patient care as a Spine Hospital nurse since joining our team in 2012. As a nurse in our post anesthesia care unit (PACU), Claire sets the bar high for the quality of post-surgical care delivered to Spine Hospital patients. Professional, approachable, responsive, respectful, and kind to all staff and patients, she effectively anticipates the needs of our patients and uses a collaborative approach with the team.
A great nurse is one who is able to do his or her job safely and effectively, while showing compassion and concern for each patient they encounter. Nursing is much more than a career—it truly is a calling. It takes a very special person to care for and connect with people when they are most vulnerable, and that's why Claire is a shining example of a nursing superstar!
